Is there such a thing as a plastic-free electric toothbrush?
Unfourtantley there is not. And with millions of people using electric toothbrushes, that's a huge problem when it comes to replacing the heads. However, we have finally found a solution to disposable electric toothbrush heads! Brushd has developed recyclable electric toothbrush heads (you know all electric toothbrush heads aren't recyclable, right?) that you can send back to them to be recycled properly.
Your new electric toothbrush heads
- Pack of 2
- Compatible with all Phillips Sonicare toothbrushes
- Plastic free packaging
Why make the switch?
The majority of toothbrushes are made from plastic, and dental floss is usually coated in plastic. Most toothpastes are in plastic tubes, and mouthwashes are usually in plastic bottles.
If each one of us changed our toothbrush four times a year, that’s 320 each in a lifetime. There’s around 67 million people living in the UK, so that’s potentially 268 million toothbrushes sent to landfill each year. From the UK alone.
How to recycle these electric toothbrush heads?
Just return the brush head to us using the pre-paid compostable pouch enclosed with your order and Brushd will recycle the heads correctly. Once the heads are returned to Brushd using the enclosed pre-paid compostable pouch, they use an outside facility to separate the components of each head by composition. They are then shredded, melted and ready to be moulded into various new products.
